ICNA Fail

This is kind of funny.

Islamic Circle of North America denounced the quran burning and offered free qurans in the same announcement.

If you’re Muslim and you hear that people are planning to burn qurans, would you really provide 10,000 free qurans?  Wouldn’t you be worried that they might end up in flames?  In fact, if I were to burn a quran, I’d rather burn a free one and spend my good money on something to read.

After announcing this plan, the spokesperson flat out lies.

Amir Mertaban, Chairman of the ICNA chapter’s Dawah Committee said “We feel that a positive act like this is much more effective and appropriate in countering a hateful act like the one in Gainesville.” Muslims are obligated to respect other religions and their holy books, particularly the Bible, and Mertaban added that, “A Muslim would never burn a Bible.”

Ha.  Amir should try using Google before making such claims.  Muslims in Gaza, Saudi Arabia,  Australia and Pakistan have burned Bibles and that’s just from the first page of search results.
