Boom!

I love fireworks. I love the explosions and the bursts of lights across the sky. I love the anticipation after each “boom!” when you don’t know where or what the fireworks will be. Fireworks are best when they are fired in rapid succession and it seems like they’ll never end.
I know that fireworks cost a lot of money. I know that there are probably more practical uses for the money and some communities won’t have fireworks this year so I’m thankful that ours will. There’s a bit of guilt at the ostentatious displays but it’s overridden by pure joy. What day is better for an ostentatious display than our nation’s birthday? Bring on the explosions!
