Oh no! Red Eye has insulted the Mounties! Those damn, ignorant Americans! Oops … I’m American.
I have to agree with Kate on this one … get a grip.
This is why many Americans believe that Mounties wear red coats and funny pants:

Did Americans create this stereotype-reinforcing show? No. It was written by Canadians, directed by a Canadian, produced by Canadians, and starred a Canadian.
Ask a Canadian to describe an RCMP officer. I’m willing to bet that almost all would include “red coat.”
