Is it illegal to defend yourself in Canada?
In Tuesday’s incident — the 12th such shooting in February — a south Vancouver mother watched in horror as two gunmen forced their way into her home and pointed a gun at her son.
Mabel Mohammed said the gunmen were asking for someone named Azim, whom Mohammed said the family does not know.
They then shot and wounded her son Aleem, 19, in the shoulder, she said.
His brother, Amir, then wrestled the gun away and shot one of the assailants dead, Mohammed said, adding that the other assailant fled. (StarPhoenix 2/17/09)
Can you guess who was arrested? Amir. His brother was shot and he took a gun away from one of the assailants to protect his family and he gets arrested!
In Tucson, four armed men attempted a home invasion but the home owner fought back by shooting at them (video). The police are seeking the home invaders, not the home owner, as it should be.
I thought you guys didn’t have guns in Canada with all your gun control laws? I guess you guys want to be England where you get arrested if you even think about resisting when you get attacked.
The criminals had the guns.
So, in order to defend oneself, one would have to take the gun away from the criminal. Then one would be arrested for assault. And maybe theft.
It would be a lot easier if the people already had guns so they wouldn’t have to hope they can get one off of the guy trying to kill them before they could defend themselves.

Personally I think you should have the right to defend yourselves otherwise you can be easily pushed over even by your own leaders. So free legal forums may be your best bet.
Self preservation is the highest right you have, without the right to protect yourself you have nothing. And in a world filled with bad people if you don’t have a gun you might be screwed, all it really is is the ability to defend yourself and your rights. A gun in the wrong hands can cause major problems and since the wrong hands are already armed to the teeth, and will not disarm for any reason and no law will make them, you might want to look into it getting yourself armed.
One thing people also forget about the Second Amendment was that is was a way of enforcement. The Constitution in itself is nothing more than words on a piece of paper without the ability for real enforcement. Any government can make laws and break them when they chose to in the absence of any power great enough to challenge them, the two biggest challenges to governmental power in the Constitution, were the First and Second amendments, The First being the Right to Free Speech and Redress of Grievances, however if the First failed to rectify the situation and restore the people’s Rights, the Second was the power to enforce the will of the people and maintain their Rights upheld in the Constitution. The simplest aspect of the Second Amendment was the ability to protect yourself, the most extreme was the Right of the people to revolt in the face of tyranny when all other methods have failed to secure and reestablish the Rights of the people, and the authority of the Constitution. The reason I say that is the most extreme end of the Second Amendment is that revolution should never be taken lightly and the founders never wanted it to be done so, however while they felt that it should not be done until all other methods have failed it could not ever be taken off the table.
The point is that you have the right to defend yourself and you rights, and any one that tells you otherwise or claims they will protect you is trying to enslave you.
We canadians live under tyranny. Individuals DO NOT have rights here. The charter of rights and freedoms states so. I would love to leave canada so much, it is such a depressing, bleak country if one cares about what really matters and chooses to see how incredibly stupid and harmfull many canadian policies are. I would rather be free than canadian-any day. Not even a right to defend ones self, ultimately due to a bunch of dumb, bleeding heart, confused liberals(aka-canadians). Screw you canada, i am leaving and one day renouncing my citizenship ( our “owners” make it hard to do that to).

American citizens do not have that right anymore, thanks to Liberals. So, what should happen is… We disarm Israel completely. When Israel has a problem, it can call USA911, and wait for the police to get there…
