“what can you tell us about your days with the Unabomber?”

February 12, 2009

David Letterman is brilliant…and so is Joaquin Phoenix.

When Joaquin announced that he was leaving acting in order to become a musical artist, I was sad.  Here was an amazing actor that appeared to be losing his grip on reality.  He was either depressed or delusional, and I thought he was destined for the loony bin or even suicide.  However, this performance suggests that perhaps, this is not a crazy guy.  This is a guy that is playing the most amazing and elaborate joke ever…well, not really since Andy Kaufman pulled the same stunt a few years back.  Remember Tony Clifton?

Anyway.  Very funny and entertaining.  I’ll let you decide whether this is real or not, but my vote, for what it’s worth…fake.

Remember, this guy has mad acting skilz.

i feel kind of sorry for Joaquin Phoenix because he does seem genuinely disoriented and Letterman gave him a hard time about it

There is not a chance that Joaquin’s family and publicist and friends would let him go on a show in a true condition of confusion and disorientation. And Letterman was in on it.
