You’re Doing It Wrong
This has been bothering me for years. And I know that I am not the only one who is disturbed by this phenomenon. And who am I to criticise, really? Afterall, I was the recipient of a fashion citation many, many years ago…for wearing baby blue splash pants in public. In my defense, it was wet and snowy and windy and it seemed practical. Nontheless, I think I am justified in pointing out this particular the fashion faux pas – the combination of a jean jacket worn with jeans, especially of the same shade or wash. Worse, and more common in the 80′s, but still spotted on occasion, is the acid-wash jean jacket with acid-wash jeans combination. Seriously. Don’t do it. In general, and unless you are a cowboy, this goes for men as well.
Here is how you do it. If you wear a jean jacket, wear it with non-denim pants or a cute skirt. Pick up a J Crew catalogue if you need some examples. If you must combine jean jacket with jeans, make sure that the washes are as different as possible.
Nuff said.
