They put all this to the bad use of obtaining Narcissistic Supply. Many of them are con-men, politicians, or artists. Many of them do belong to the social and economic privileged classes. They mostly do get exempted many times by virtue of their standing in society, their charisma, or their ability to find the willing scapegoats. Having “got away with it” so many times – they develop a theory of personal immunity, which rests on some kind of societal and even cosmic “order of things”. Some people are just above punishment, the “special ones”, the “endowed or gifted ones”.

The narcissist is preoccupied with ideal love, the construction of brilliant, revolutionary scientific theories, the composition or authoring or painting of the greatest work of art ever, the founding of a new school of thought, the attainment of fabulous wealth, the reshaping of the fate of a nation, becoming immortalised and so on.

Time is a quality of the physical world – or, at least, of the way we perceive it. Many narcissists do not feel a part of reality. They feel “unreal”, fake facsimiles of “tangible”, normal, people. This dents their perception of time and causality.

I’ve commented on other blogs exactly what you have revealed. You can do a check list on narcissistic personality disorder for both Obama and Biden as well. Narcissists do not surround themselves with people of an opposite viewpoint, they insist on “yes men” and people of inferior qualities around them and that’s what scares me. There will be nothing “long term” in an Obama presidency, that includes people that disagree with him. We all saw him throw his pastor and his own grandmother under the bus when it was expedient for him to do so. Expect more of the same. Narcissistic personalities don’t care about reality and prefer “pomp and circumstance”, bullshit is as good as reality, and it will satisfy them to “say” they did something good rather than actually make a difference in reality.

barry reminds me of the guy that could bs his way among college miscreants, but when it came to meeting your folks, he didn’t pass the smell test…
why happened to people’s ability to recognize bs? could it be because bs rules?

Thought I was the only one who was saying this about Obama!
I clearly pointed out that anyone who could do to the unborn what Senator Obama voted for stood a very good chance of being a sociopath.
Take off the Senator’s hat, put on a doctor’s white coat and walk right by a baby struggling to survive a botched abortion?
I’m just shaking my head at how immoral the Democratic Party has officially become. (I used to be a raging Democrat myself but like in the Wizard of Oz, I got a heart and brain. Became a staunch Republican.)
The ONLY way Barack Obama has gotten to where he is because he dazzles the natives by charming them with his shiny objects.
I wrote the Fairfield, CA paper that Obama was a narcissistic sociopath but Karen Nolan sent it back saying it was strictly “speculation”.
We’ll see about that.
