While we are on the topic of education. My daughter came home with a school bulletin that said the following:
This year a great deal of teacher’s professional development has been focused on assessment. The research presented suggests that assessment is not an effective tool for learning if it is not meaningful to students. To that end our students have offered ideas for what to assess in our [current] unit of study”
Um. Seriously? After years of studying and all those professional development days? And you still don’t feel confident in your ability to assess students in a meaningful way? Maybe y’all shouldn’t be teaching…
