Roadblockers

October 16, 2008

Arrgh!

Our neighborhood school is tucked away on a residential street which makes a 90 degree turn. Parking is challenging at the best of times, especially when the buses are coming and going.

Why would anyone just stop in the middle of the road to let their children out? And not just a quick stop. Oh no. One mom actually parked her car. No concern whatsoever for the other parents dropping kids off and especially no concern for the children that have to try to cross the street in the midst of the chaos.

It reminds me of parents dropping students off at the dorms in university. The parents just park wherever they want to and completely disregard any ‘no parking’ signs.

Aaargh! I so wish I could actually write tickets. I’d start with double parking and move onto parking in a bus zone then finish up with the other no parking zones. Wouldn’t it be great if the the parent council could get the money from parking fines. Brilliant.
