Iceland: We will be keeping 3 £bn of UK assets.
UK: Then we shall freeze 4 £bn Icelandic assets. Checkmate.
What the hell? Did they think the Brits were going to sit back and do nothing? Did they not check to see how many billions of Icelandic assets were held in the UK?
Hmmm. Interesting. I cannot say the word “billion”, even in my head, without going all Dr. Eeeevil.

I see this whole thing rather differently, to put it mildly. A small country was taking temporary measures to deal with a financial collapse and a much more powerful country used it as an excuse to steal money from them. This will make me much less likely to spend my tourism dollars (assuming anyone still has them) in the UK.
