If At All Possible

September 27, 2008

Don’t Buy Chinese.  Especially food products made in China.

I remember White Rabbit Candy.  I loved it.  We would usually get some in our Halloween haul every year when we were kids.  In fact, I almost bought some a few weeks ago…but then thought twice, and put the candy back.  I’m glad I used caution.  I’m not paranoid…just smart.  All food products from China are suspect.  If accidents happen within the Canadian and American food industry, which is well regulated, imagine what must happen in the corrupt and unregulated food industry in China.  Indeed, I was watching a news program about the melamine milk crisis in China a week ago, and the report concluded with the statement “Chinese officials are working to put limits on the amount of melamine in food products”…what?  Limit the amount!!  Seriously?  Not eliminate?  Yeah.  Not buying Chinese.  Ever.  Again.

Melamine…

Halloween is going to be a challenge.

I predict that we’ll be tossing out at least half of the candy. I’ll have to reimburse the children.
