It’s Not Affordable Housing…

If you can’t afford it.

Okay.  I think I got it now…

People like Obama and his fellow community organizers (see Acorn) felt that America wasn’t working properly.  Millions of hard-working Americans were saving money and buying houses and paying off mortgages.  They were helping to pay for their children’s university education so that they too could become productive members of society.  These children were working summer jobs to help finance their education.  They were working evening and weekend shifts at fast food restaurants during the school year so they could buy some nice clothing.  Some kids were taking on student loans to help them pay for school when their parents could not afford to foot the bill.  And then when these students graduated, they got jobs and payed off their student loans.  Like their parents before them, they saved money and found a house and got a mortgage.  And they made payments on the mortgage…every month.

Yes.  Something was rotten.  It wasn’t fair.  Why did it have to be this way?  What about the people who didn’t want to have to go to school for 4 or 8 years in order to get a good job?  What about the people who wanted to party and drink and smoke and hang out…who didn’t want to have to use birth control.  What about the people who didn’t or couldn’t go to university but were too fancy to consider a trade?  There had to be a solution.  Everybody deserved the best, didn’t they?  Why couldn’t the rich people share?  Couldn’t everybody have the Bling?  Wasn’t there a way to help the people with no income, no credit, no education, live the American dream?  Couldn’t the community organizers help?  Well.  Yes.  They could.  And they did.

Oh.  And don’t think that the Republicans were innocent.
