Heh. When pigs fly. CBC is trying so hard to sell this show.

Not a single one of those actors is muslim in real life. Real muslims are afraid to play a muslim in case they do something wrong and end up with a fatwa on their head.
Wikipedia says that two of the actors are Muslim … Zaib Shaikh and Aliza Vellani.
CBC “News” had a segment on Little Mosque. This is seriously being shoved down our throats.
Really? Zaib is a practicing muslim?
Zaib played a gay man in another canadian program – performed some “interesting” scenes with other naked men…I don’t think he is a practicing muslim.
Aliza plays a minor character.
Well, he’s obviously not an Islamist or an “orthodox” Muslim. And some Muslims might not consider him to be Muslim. That doesn’t mean that he’s not Muslim.

Anyone who works in Canadian media (outside the state funded CBC) knows that this show has some of the lowest ratings on Canadian T.V. No one, NO ONE, outside Canada knows anything about this horrible show. So, Osama it is. Like it or not.

I am an American who has been to Canada on many occasions and I have to say that I do enjoy the show, on some levels. Yes, there are some “bad” muslims on the show, but no one is perfect. And since Allah is merciful and forgiving, perhaps crazybengal can cut the acotrs on th show some slack…. how many “positive” portrayals of muslims do you see nowadays anyhow?
Just one – and I don’t think he is bad, just liberated. It is a really horrible show.

He’s the only good thing about the show.
I think the reason why no practicing muslim acts in it cause they wouldn’t condone to holding non-mahrams, thus the rayyan and yasir can’t really touch and stuff..

Rayyan is not related to Yasir in real life – so the actors shouldn’t technically ever touch. Such a reasonable religion. Even with all those “rules”, rape is very common in muslim countries and rape victims are in prisons throughout the middle east.
