Many people were let go, and the librarian was one of them and it happened months after the question about books was asked. AND the question the then Mayor asked was a question she passed on from a concerned parent. This is such a non-issue. And Anne Kilkenney is an outcast malcontent up there. Who else goes to every council meeting to complain? She’s a left winger from the get go and her feigned attempt at “objectivity” is a joke. She’s loving this glory from the Obama camp though. Finally, SHE gets to be popular. Explain how a Governor with 86% approval exists but all the media can find are opponents?

The librarian hasn’t surfaced. Don’t you think one of the 30+ msm researchers sent to Alaska to dig up dirt on Palin would have found her? Don’t you think she would have been screaming for attention had there been anything to scream about?

Just the fact that she asked about the book policy is weird and the fact that the librarian was let go for a time is weird.
Some people are like “Oh, that’s totally normal policy” but c’mon. Really?
If a new mayor came into your town and the mayor told the LIBRARIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to resign or re-apply or was fired or whatever, that would turn some heads. Especially after her inquiry.
Glad the people of Wasilla supported her. My guess is that the librarian will resurface in a little bit and give an interview. Lets see what she has to say. Lets see what Palin says when she steps to the mic too. About a lot of things…

Once again, is there any actual evidence that Palin tried to ban books?

Do you believe that all books should be available in a public library? Absolutely all books? Child porn? Manuals for bomb-making? Graphic S&M coffee table books?

It's beyond me why Palin should ask a librarian a hypothetical question on what she would do if asked to ban books as a sort of "loyalty test." Loyal or not, it's not surprising that the librarian reacted the way she did knowing her responsibilities to uphold the Library Bill of Rights as adopted by the American Library Association. After all, the document did stress that one, "materials should not be excluded because of the origin, background, or views of those contributing to their creation." Two, "libraries should provide materials and information presenting all points of view on current and historical issues. Materials should not be proscribed or removed because of partisan or doctrinal disapproval." And that three, "libraries should challenge censorship in the fulfillment of their responsibility to provide information and enlightenment."
