I think that the other victims of the greyhound incident were just that. They were also victims. As you said no time to think no time for a plan in action, just get the hell off and then decide what to do next, once everyone is safe. I think anyone’s first response would be to run. Is it not enough that these other passengers were horrified by what they saw, but to have people making comments about how they could have done more? We just read about this terrible tradegy, they saw with their own eyes, that will be with them in their dreams, always looking over their shoulder, lets give them alittle peace and not forget that they kept the killer on the bus so he wouldn’t be at large and maybe do this again to someone else. We all want to be hero’s, but I don’t think anyone had a knife or gun with them to stop this guy from what he was set out to do. I just want to say to the other victims on the greyhound that horrible day and to the family of Tim McLean, my prayers are with you.

I have thought about this too. I would have the first off the bus. If my children had been with me, I would have dragged them physically or, as one parent on the bus did, I would have thrown them forward away from the killer. What is differnt about this case and the airplane cases is, you can’t jump out of an airplane. You are forced to deal with the danger then and now. There is really no running away. And that makes all the difference. Would a hand gun have stopped the killer? Probably not. The victem was going to bleed out anyway. What is important is that the killer was not allowed to continue on his spree. I am a bit disturbed by the fact that the police allowed him to eat some of his victem however…a bullet at that point would have saved tax payers a lot of money.
