God saved them! Hallelujah!

Eloise and John Bergen were missionaries in Kenya. They were attacked in their home by a group of young men (including two of their security guards!). John was beat with machetes and almost had his arms chopped off. Eloise was beat and raped and left for dead. She managed to get her husband to a truck and drive for help. Medical staff saved their lives and John’s arms.
Who do they credit? God. Yep. “God interevened to save them both.” Not that Eloise saved her husband. Not that he had the fortitude to stay alive. Not that the doctors and nurses did everything they could. It was God.
The arrogance of that is amazing. God saved them? But not child abuse victims? Not Spc. Megan Tuoma?
God didn’t save them. People saved them.
