Obama won Iowa. Then he closed all but one office. Not surprisingly, it’s the Iowa City office that has remained open. Check out this map from the 2004 election. See the bright blue county? That’s Johnson County which includes Iowa City — home of the University of Iowa. A liberal college town voting Democrat? Shocking.
I’m actually registered to vote in Iowa City since that was my last residence in the USA. I guess my vote helped to keep the county from being painted an even deeper blue.
