Close the Closet Door and Check Under the Bed Mommy

April 29, 2008

Joshua Hoffine  has made a series of photographs depicting the great childhood fears.  Clowns, check.  Closets, check.  Carnival guy, check.  Creepy basement, check.

As kids, my brother and I have always feared the furnace room in our basement because of a creepy comic book story about a voice that called a kid into the basement in the middle of the night – stupid kid actually went into the furnace room…and of course his skeleton was hanging next to the furnace the next morning.  Yeah.  We were forever traumatized by that story.
