CBC Censorship sucks rocks

The CBC had an excellent interview with Art Spiegelman on CBC News: Sunday April 6, 2008.

Mr. Spiegelman discussed freedom of speech and censorship of his own drawings which accompanied an article about free speech.

So what sucks about that? CBC blurred the Mohammed Cartoons. Yep. Perfect illustration of the problem being discussed, no? I was stunned and then furious. CBC feels it’s perfectly okay to show caricatures of Jews, blacks, women, Catholic priests, etc. but not of Mohammed. Everything else is fair game.

  1. The goal of the slow jihad is to make people fearful so eventually all in the west will obey Sharia law…just like CBC.

  2. I doubt the CBC did this out of favoritism, but rather, out of fear. Canada is starting to have a fairly large Muslim population, and the CBC probably doesn’t want a repeat of events that took place in Europe.

    Ah, the joys of multiculturalism!

  3. If there was an angry muslim reaction to the motoons in canada, it would be a good wake up call because people I have spoken with said “that would NEVER happen here”…ORLY? Why not show them and see. Maybe they are right.

  4. [...] ask why the cartoon wasn’t included with the linked article.  Then I saw it was the CBC.  Enough said. [...]

  5. I don’t think anyone will get killed for showing the lady in the burka cartoon…still havn’t seen the motoons though. There is a publication ban on showing the burka babe.

  6. however…I think that the ban is for Nova Scotia only…but not sure
